Recently, I have started a series of large paintings of agility dogs. Since attending a dock jumping show a few years ago, I have come to admire the athleticism of these dogs and the connection they have with their human partners, their concentration is unshakable. I just love the pure joy they get from catching a frisbee, doing flips or jumping off a dock - it makes me smile.
...and on a personal note, I have been experiencing a lot of joy lately, so I appropriately named this "Joy".
Thank you Wayne Ramsey for your beautiful photo to work from.

I started this a few years ago and never finished it - just other things getting in the way - my mind jumps around like a spider monkey - you know... "Maybe I'll paint this! Maybe I'll paint that!" and then I end up doing just that and end up with a lot of half finished paintings. The gallery that has been representing me encouraged me to finish it and VOILA! It's DONE!
I love it when that happens :)
