"Bogey"
16" x 20"
oil on canvas
After the SALT Magazine came out, I was commissioned to paint Bogey and Butterscotch who had passed years ago. The clients had always wanted to get them memorialized in a painting. After they saw the article, they contacted me. I'm truly honored they chose me to paint their beloved fur babies!!

The Daily Dog - Seventeen
"Joe"
8"x10"
oil on canvas
This is Joe.
He is one of the most loyal dogs I've ever met. He belongs to Sara and she is fiercely loyal to Joe. He follows her everywhere and she takes care of him throughout all the ailments old age brings. At night he sleeps with his head on her chest. He likes to bark at birds and loves to eat. He will chase a ball as long as you throw it and believes this is the most fun game in the world.
"Sara Bird"
48" x 48"
This is a painting I did of Sara a few years ago. It sits on the wall in our living room - it is one of my favorite paintings.

Divide and Conquer
oil on fabric canvas
both paintings 36" x 48"
I have been thinking about doing these paintings for awhile which is really most of the process of painting... just thinking and working it out. It could take years or days and if it's meant to be, it'll make it to the canvas.
The reason why I wanted to do these paintings... I started to think about the apparent division in this country and the vitriol on both sides and it seems more now that I have ever seen. Maybe I notice it more because I'm older. Anyhow, I had heard that tactics of division have been used throughout history to control people. I feel that's where we are now. So I decided to put it in my art. The paintings can be taken any number of ways and I'm curious if anyone will get it and what their interpretations will be.
