Joy

Joy
24" x 48"
oil on canvas
Available at Sandpiper Gallery

Recently, I have started a series of large paintings of agility dogs.  Since attending a dock jumping show a few years ago, I have come to admire the athleticism of these dogs and the connection they have with their human partners, their concentration is unshakable. I just love the pure joy they get from catching a frisbee, doing flips or jumping off a dock - it makes me smile.

...and on a personal note, I have been experiencing a lot of joy lately, so I appropriately named this "Joy".

Thank you Wayne Ramsey for your beautiful photo to work from.

Lucy

"Lucy"
10" x 8"
oil on canvas
Sold

The first dog I ever sketched was my dalmatian, Ginny.
We got her when she was a tiny white puppy with little black dots. I adored her. She was gorgeous, highly protective and incredibly smart. Although she was completely deaf, we were able to teach her unlimited commands that she learned quite quickly. I would draw her when she was sleeping so when I received this commission it was very dear to my heart.

Ginny will be forever missed.
