White Koi

White Koi
8x10"
oil on canvas
view in my shop

This is my first painting of 2017.

I decided on Chumley because he is my most favorite subject to paint and this is his favorite thing to do - see the fish at the Arboretum. I ask him "do you want to go see the fish?" and he knows exactly what's coming. If I let him, he would stay all day and stare at the koi. When we leave he digs his feet in and pulls on the leash with his teeth to stay. I practically have to drag him out (really sad).

Any way, I'm hoping for the New Year you get to do all of your most favorite things.

Happy New Year Everybody!

New Watercolors

Angelfish
14" x 11"

Lately I have been working on these fun watercolors of tropical fish in combination with doing portraits for Christmas presents and working on larger pieces for the McErny Gallery show in spring 2014... All while running the gallery! Whew!

The show at McErny will be dog inspired, of course with all new work.  I have a whole year to work on it and it will be fantastic!!

This friday the Gallery is having an open house and you can see new work and a surprise portrait gift to a special someone. Love surprises! I hope you can come out and join us. Here is the info...

Don't forget, if you are thinking about a portrait for Christmas, it's best to get your order in soon!

Summertime

14" x 8"
oil on panel

This is my son fishing last summer, hooking his first large mouth bass ever. I decided to paint this for him as a Christmas present. I also made the frame and tried gold gilding for the first time.
