I saw a photo of her in the New Rattitude Rescue calendar and HAD the paint her. She reminded me so much of my Frida with the attitude, sitting pretty on that chair.

I just spent an amazing 7 days out west in Denver, Colorado, Sante Fe & Taos, New Mexico with my mom and sister. Lots of landscapes, new energy and new ideas for paintings!

This is a Church in New Mexico I saw in some random town. I quickly snapped the photo out of the window. Just love the barbwire in contrast to the friendly white picket fence, the adobe and white windows.... just a lot of metaphors in this.

This is my sister's pup, Gretel. I painted this for her 50th birthday. At this moment we are in Colorado celebrating her birthday with my mom going to galleries, museums and immersing ourselves in creativity, good food and humor.

Today we go to one of my favorite cities Sante Fe and then we go to Taos.
It's going to be a good an inspirational celebration!

For the past few weeks I have been clearing out my studio - Got a hold a book called "Spark Joy" which has helped me decide what stays and what goes. I highly recommend it for clearing clutter. Now, it has spread to other parts of the house. What seemed like an unsurmountable task now seems so easy, and so freeing.

This is Gus. He belongs to a good friend. Every time I would go to her house, Gus would most likely be sitting on the sofa and I would sit next to him. Unlike most cats that would run away to some dark room in the back of the house at the sight of an intruder, he would stay and let me pet him and just sit quietly - nothing seemed to bother him and always seemed deep in thought.
He was a cool cat and will be missed.

This is the final painting in the PAINT MY DOG! series for 2015.

The dog belongs to the awesome painter Susan B. Hecht who taught me color theory - I took a 3 day workshop with her and what she taught me changed my painting.

It's been holiday portrait season and it's been a busy time for sure - I'm finally coming up for air. I wanted to share this painting from the PAINT MY DOG series that I just love. 

Also, at the end of this month I will be closing my Etsy shop - I have decided to have some galleries represent my work and see how it goes. Edward Dare Gallery in Charleston will be the first of a few. It's a really lovely gallery that represents a wide range of artists and I'm looking forward to working with them.
